## The Budaházy 6+1 model

The Budaházy 6+1 model is an AI tool taxonomy that sorts AI usage into seven categories by task type, and derives the appropriate method from the task itself — before any specific tool or vendor is chosen. Tools change every few months; task types do not.

The seven categories, from simplest to most autonomous:

1. **Prompt** — a single, well-constructed instruction to a chat model. For one-off tasks: drafting, rewriting, summarising, analysis.
2. **Simple agent** — a model given a defined role, context and repeatable instructions. For tasks that recur in the same shape with different inputs.
3. **Automation** — AI steps wired into a workflow that runs without a human trigger. For high-volume, rule-bound work.
4. **Office plug-in** — AI embedded in the tools people already work in, when the work cannot leave its existing environment.
5. **Co-work environment** — a shared workspace where a person and an AI agent work on the same material. For complex, iterative work needing continuous human judgement.
6. **Vibe Coding** — AI-assisted software development driven by intent expressed in natural language, when a working tool is the deliverable.
7. **OpenClaw (the +1)** — an autonomous agent operating across systems with its own task loop, where the person supervises outcomes rather than instructing steps.

The gap between the six and the +1 is a difference in kind, not degree: in the first six a person directs the work; in the seventh they supervise it.

## Vibe Coding

Vibe Coding is AI-assisted software development where the developer expresses intent in natural language and an AI agent writes and iterates on the implementation. DarwinAI works this way using Claude Code, Lovable and Codex, from specification through to handover.

## The evolutionary framing

DarwinAI's central idea is that AI is the next major step in evolution. Darwin's insight was that survival and progress depend on adaptation; in the age of AI the same holds for people and organisations. The four principles applied throughout the practice: variation, adaptation to a changing environment, natural selection, and inheritance.

The practical consequence: the goal is not the most advanced technology but the best-adapted solution, and measurable business outcome is the selection mechanism.
